I got an odd problem?

I just upgraded my pc from first gen ryzen to this:

Asus ROG STRIX B450-F Gaming

Ryzen 5 3600x

EVGA GTX 1080TI

same power supply and storage as before. 

I got a second hand kit of corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 3000 2x8. all was fine until i got my new case, a lian li, 011 dynamic razer. then i put my pc to sleep last night and woke up and it was off and wont boot, later found out that one of the sticks seems to be dead, but the led still work. any idea?

run memtest86 with it on XMP profile, stick by stick

if it really is defective, check for warranty

 

most RAM have lifetime warranty with them

i cant even get it to post with the stick in

if your computer works fine with the other stick, it's safe to say one stick is dead

so you can proceed to RMA it

odds that they will rma without proof of purchase? i bought it second hand?

if it's lifetime warranty, as long as you have the product in hand, and it's defective, they should honour it

 

last time i RMA the ram i didnt even need to show corsair my proof of purchase
