hello

i have got a Nvidia GeForce 8400gs graphics card and i need help to install it into my system please.

When i put my card into the system and plug it into vga or hdmi there is just a black screen but when i boot with my vga cable in my on-board graphics i have a display.

when i try to install a driver it says i don't have the hardware installed when i put the card in after the computer has fully booted so that i can see my display and start the installer.

can somebody please help me?

Thank You

Graphics cards aren't supposed to be hot swappable...you might have killed it.

Almost no PC parts are supposed to be swapped while the computer is on. You probably cause a shock of sorts thus frying either the PCI-E lane or the PCI-E connector on your GPU
