Hi all,

I recently went on the Floatplane site, because I was interested to get involved in this new thing. However, none of the text is selectable on the website.

I use a program that allows me to pipe selected text into the Microsoft Speech API. Therefore it is very difficult to use a website that does not allow text selection. I know that the text is actually text, and not images, because when I put my browser into read mode, it picks up the text. The decision to make the text non-selectable seems like a very form-over-function sort of decision. I would greatly appreciate it if the Floatplane team could look into enabling text selection on the website.

If you need help testing accessibility or advice from a blind user, I would be happy to help! I can also put you guys in touch with some people from the National Federation of the Blind if necessary.

Thank you!

This is probably a very stupid question, but what do you mean by @ ing? Should I message them? Or by @ ing them, did you already tag them to this thread so that those accounts will be notified?

They are notified, essentially @TempestCatto ‘pinged’ them, and they will be alerted next time they log onto the site.
