Question: Can sleeved cables damage components?

Hey there,

Sorry to bother you, but I have a question.

A while ago i build my gaming desktop. Now I really want to spice up my PC with some white sleeved cables.

I found some on amazon a kit with CPU power, 24 pin, and pci-e cables, but first want to know (before i order):

Can cheap(er) sleeved cables damage your components? And can i cause something like coil whine?

Its from the brand Reaper cables.

My pc specs:
Ryzen 7 3700x

RTX 2070 super MSI
16 Gb DDR4 3600Mhz
X570 motherboard (asus ROG)
and a 700watt PSU from seasonic.

Thank you for your time, I hope you can help me out.

No for the most part assuming it's the right connector with the right spec sheet.

though if you're getting cables and not extensions, make sure they're compatible with you're psu. because that end is not standard unlike the ATX end where you plug the components, but for the most part it shouldn't affect the parts.

If the cables are made really shotily and you pull a lot of amps under load the potential for damage does exist but sleeved cable extensions in themselves do not cause or result in undo harm or coil whine. Just buy some good quality extensions like from CableMod.
