Ethernet switch issues

I have recently bought a tp-link 8 port switch and it doesn't work.I have a cat 6 wire running from my router and then splitting into 4 computers.Most of the times the computer doesn't even recongize the connection and if it does it flickers on and off.I have Huawei router

Did you try different cables? Could just be a bad switch.

make sure your switch has power plugged in and that the outlet has power running to it. Also verify that you computer works fine when plugged directly into the router.

There is nothing wrong with wires.Yes it does work when connected directly fro the router.

Is this a managed or unmanaged switch? Can you post the full model or a link to the switch?

On the odd time it recognizes the connection it says: Unidentified network, No internet

And you're sure that the ethernet port on the Huawei router is working as well?

Yes it works. I tried troubleshooting it said something about an ip configuration.

What gave you this report? Windows?

 

Is the Hauwei device an internet gateway? Can you state the make and model? I've seen where fiber ONTs from Hauwei have ports for specific purposes, e.g one for LAN, one for VoIP, one for IPTV, etc.
