I got a
GTX 1080
i7 6700
16GB RAM
win10 64bit
Since I downloaded the nvidia drivers yesterday I've noticed on msi afterburner my GPU is stuck on 5000 MHz when I'm playing World of Warcraft and while that is happening I noticed DWM is using my GPU more than the game itself on Task Manager. Also upon closer inspection I noticed the GPU rises to 5000MHz after almost every window that I open and getting back down to the normal 400ish MHz. I've tried playing with the 3D settings for performance and power, nothing seems to work and while I'm playing the GPU is literally getting cooked while rising almost to 80 degrees.
Can anyone help?

That is perfectly fine.

I will recommend an NHu12s (or an NHd15 (maybe)) for your PC build. Quote or @ me @Prodigy_Smit for me to see your replies.

for temperature you need better airflow/steeper curve.

You could also try limiting your fps in game or turning vsync on (if you dont have gsync monitor).

Otherwise, its perfectly normal and fine. Temperature is slightly high but thats an airflow issue not that ur cpu is at 100%.

5000mhz on memory? high usage is normal for gaming. 80c is also normal for gmaing.

gpu clokc rising is normal since opening windows are graphical.

Are you running LN2 or how do you get 5GHz on GTX1080? Max should be around 2.1GHz.

Think he ment 5ghz on memory. If he ment core clocks he running he is running his GPU at lower temps than LN2 cause the world record is 2645MHz.
