Which the money saved can be used to get a 2080 Super which will give you way more FPS than the CPU difference.

Either way I'd wait until NVIDIA launches it's 3000 series.

If I were you I'd honestly just wait until Black Friday.

While you can buy the CPU now and not really lose out on anything, the 3000 series Nvidia cards will have a substantial increase in performance.

Money saved from waiting just a little longer will offset the AMD vs Intel cost.

Other than that, @Darpyface's build isn't terrible, though I'd just get an air cooler and ditch the MSI motherboard.

the nvidia 3000 wont be out for a long time in my price point. they usually release the 3080 first then a month or so the 3070 and then the 3060 so your talking months down the road. there will always be a better upgrade down the road.

Depending on what monitor and keyboard you want and how much to spend on them. You could go down to a 10400 w/ a 2060 (Super), or skimp on the motherboard, cooler, case, and storage.

Ah I didn't see you needed everything. Honestly with that kind of a budget you're better off going AMD; otherwise you're dropping huge performance for stubbornness. I'm usually not one to try and persuade someone one way or the other if they have a clear preference, but Intel just doesn't have any decent low tier CPU options.

but i would rather spend the money on intel and have no issues. as i have said it is not out of stubborness its because i have had horrible experiences with amd in the past and they have forever lost me as a customer

If you're set on Intel you're going to lose a significant amount of performance, or pay a ton more. If you're fine with that, then carry on.

As for your parts selection:

  • A 32" 1080p monitor is going to look like absolute trash.
  • You don't need a cooler anywhere that good for a locked Intel CPU.
  • $200 for Windows is way, way too much.
  • Check out the 1660 Super. IIRC it's cheaper at only a slight decrease in performance.
  • That PSU is massively overpriced.
  • What size NVME?

i love this monitor i had one before but it was connected to a rtx2060 and a 9700k looked good then. im going to stick with the stock intel cooler for cpu even same thermal paste. if you look on microsoft website they charge 189 plus tax for windows 10. i dont trust this website that sell them for $20. that psu is out of stock but hard finding a comparable psu for that price here in canada. nvme is 1tb western digital, gpu is evga 1660ti sc i was looking at some supers but availability is horrible right now for parts.
