Hey my dudes, I'm trying to play my android games on my PC with the software Bluestacks, which requires virtualization. I got it turned on in BIOS, but when I check the task manager under CPU, its showing that Virtualization is disabled.

Im using Windows 10, Home edition - so there is no Hyper-V which is recommended to shut off for this issue regarding bluestacks specefically, but its weird that its not beign recognized in the task manager as turned on.

Someone else mentioned the possibility of BIOS settings not being saved due to dead CMOS Battery. I was able to change boot order to confirm that BIOS settings are saving, but im gonna try a few other things to make sure thats not the case as well while I post this.

Any idea on what else can prevent virtualization from activating?

THanks! :)

Windows lol

Download this program https://leomoon.com/downloads/desktop-apps/leomoon-cpu-v/

It's a simple utility that checks for Virtualization

You should see a check on 'cpu architecture' and an x on 'os architecture'

If this is the case, run this command in an elevated prompt:

bcdedit /set hypervisorlaunchtype off

Reboot, and you should be good to go

Man i really thought this was gonna be it, but still no go. X was there, ran admin CMD command, reboot. Still nothing. it is still active in bios.

Hmm... CPU virtualisation is quite tricky to pull. Anyway, what CPU are you using?

If it is AMD, I think you need to enable 2 option in order to get virtualisation running. The first is AMD-V, the second is IOMMU or something.

Anyway, note that Windows 10 Home (including single language or SL) doesn't support virtualisation.

I apologies if my comments or post offends you in any way, or if my rage got a little too far. I'll try my best to make my post as non-offensive as much as possible.

I confirmed that my friend is also using windows 10 home, and is running virtualization. Windows 10 home does not support hypervision however.

Im running Intel, which is just a single button to enable is my understanding.

Which processor are you using? I mean, the model of the processor?

Anyway, this is quite weird. It is as if Windows couldn't read the BIOS configuration about virtualization correctly. Maybe a BIOS update might solve the issue?

Other than that, I'm not sure what went wrong.
