If you're just going to be doing that, you should get an iPad with a case. I got this one which works well https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07Y9G18V7/ref=nav_youraccount_switchacct?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Not really. An iPad outperforms a Surface Go, has a bigger display, is lighter, has better accessories, and isn't running a bloated desktop OS that will pester you about updates when you're trying to get work done.

It's really not a good device for the price. What you gain in software capability is simply canceled out by the horrible hardware. For what you're doing, an iPad is really what you want to be looking into. Prices start at $329.

iPads have a Desktop browser, full access to the MS Office suite, inner and outer cameras, and big and bright displays for video playback. iPads also have local File System support and can also integrate into OneDrive and any other cloud service. Cellular options are also available for constant connectivity.

Keyboard cases for all models of iPad exist and the Apple Pencil/Logitech Crayon are fantastic styluses for hand written notes.

4 of the 5 things I listed are verifiable fact. You really don't help yourself by just repeating the same things over and over again.

So not too sure the recommending of an ipad that you yourself prefer is really helping you or the op out either.

I'm in the same boat as the op where I would sooner use almost any version of windows over any apple product regardless of bootcamp.

I know what the OP said. I'm just telling them that they would be making a bad choice if they bought a Surface Go. I'm recommending an iPad because it's a better device for this use case.

well the op likes windows so the ipad will need to outperform the surface tablet in performance and stability while running a vm of windows.

Does the ipad running a virtual windows environment outperform the windows tablet they want?

You're being absurd and adversarial just for the sake of it. The tasks that OP wants to do would receive 0 benefit from being done on Windows and would actually probably result in a worse experience.

User Preference is important but it shouldn't override the fact that an iPad is better suited for this job.

Well as a windows user I would also sooner choose a slower machine that nativly ran windows vs buying an apple product and running windows in a vm so it'll probably take another windows user to understand their preference and why its important to them. regardless they have their options

Have you used Windows yet on a "very weak" Hardware?

That's what you'll get on the Surface Go 2.

Even smaller Tasks will feel sluggish, and the battery Life won't be as good.

Even a basic iPad with a 4 year old A10 Chip will feel MUCH faster in everyday usage.

For basic Tasks, the Surface Go 2 will still be able to do it. But don't expect a fluid working speed.

Also: You only buy the Surface Go 2, because you NEED a Tablet with windows 10 on it, that  can double as a Notebook, and because you absolutely NEED to use the Pen (OneNote for example, annotating etc).

If you do NOT need the Pen, there is no reason at all to buy a Surface.

Most Laptops for the same Price will be MUCH better, or even 7 year old Thinkpads T-series models with Dual Core will outperform this one by alot.
