I am using the Asrock Steel Legend b450m motherboard and ive had a samsung SSD and WD Blue HDD installed on this build for a while and the both work fine but Im now trying to install an intel 660p 1tb m.2 and a

ADATA 256 GB M.2 but the thing is that my mobo is only detecting them when theyre in the top m.2 slot, ive switched them around and both m.2 ssd's work but once again theyre only detected when in the top slot. Thanks for any help in advance!

Is the ADATA an NVME/PCIE SSD?

Those type of SSD's do not work in the bottom M.2 slot.

Are you using the lower PCI-e slot? If not, try disabling onboard stuff like firewire, serial ports, etc. whatever you have. Those usually block the bandwidth of your m.2 drive.

Also make sure you have the latest stable bios

Im using the top two but not the bottom one and im fairly certain the bios is completely updated im not quite sure how to check though, id be willing to re install if that is pretty straightforward to do

Yes its an nvme ssd, and according to the mobo manual i thought that you could put an m.2 ssd in the bottom slot

NVME is the type of memory, which is often what is used to refer to the interface used by these SSD's which will typically be PCIE. Only the top slot supports PCIE M.2 SSD's, the bottom one only support SATA M.2 SSD's.

Either you need to replace the  bottom M.2 SSD with a SATA one or you can get a PCIE to M.2 card.
