100%disk usage while gaming

my game like gta 5 and world war z are always choppy my pc can handle them but my Wd500gb Hdd can't it stays always at 100% .Not on idle but only when game is running "System" task uses the disk more than the game and my CPU and GPU stay at idle and the pc gets choked by "System" task in task manager

Not sure but..ig that's not bad...it keeps loading assets from the hdd right?

Try defrag tho..run multiple tests, maybe windows was installing a n update, that would make the disk activity shoot up..or maybe the disk is not in its greatest health anymore.

I had a similar issue when trying to watch movies off a HD.  My HD died recently and this was a red flag i ignored for a while.  Not saying that this is happening to you, but you should backup your data on that drive just to be safe

I've had issues in the past where the "Windows Disk Indexing Service" would decide that the best time to run was while I was playing Battlefield and my framerate would immediately tank.

Modern games are so demanding people are forced to put games they play all the time on the SSD.

But yeah could be unlucky system update or anti-virus scan at the same time...
