Fixed wireless or att ipbb

So I'm looking to get internet out where I live and not sure which I should choose since I love online gaming. One side of the coin att speed is 18mbps down and 1mbpsup the fixed wireless is 30 down and 30 up any suggestions?

I'm assuming that since you mentioned gaming you're assuming or are aware of lag that comes with the fixed wireless?  And as such aren't choosing the increased bandwidth over the lined att connection?

How bad is the lag I know it can't be as bad as satellite

Comes down to this. DSL will have lower latency. But at 18 Mbps it might not be enough. My buddy had AT&T and his family had issues all the time, 6 people living in the house in all. Also, in select areas AT&T has a 250 Gb data cap, you would want to see if that's enforced in your area. 

 

Fixed wireless will have higher latency. But at 30 Mbps, should handle multiple streams. The only issue is making sure it also doesn't have data caps attached because a lot of wireless providers do.

I don't know.  Though if you had the name of the provider you could try a google to see what other customers are saying.  I'd assume that the extra bandwidth does indicate a more robust infrastructure and may have less lag/jitter than that crappy wired att connection.  Those att speeds would seem to indicate that you'd be connected at the furthest reaches of their network and there would be a few extra steps before you got to any major networks.

So the art has a 1tb cap and the fixed wireless has a 1.2tb cap. I was gaming on my phone's 4glte and had no issue the ping was pretty good on that I would think it would be similar on fixed wireless no?

According to AT&T DSL is 150 Gigs, Fixed Wireless is 250 Gigs, Internet Basic 768kbps to Internet 300 is 1TB, Internet 500-1000 is Unlimited. For $30/m you can make Internet basic Unlimited. Normal DSL and Fixed Wireless do not quality to unlimited data.

Comes down to bands that they use. It also comes down to how many people are tied to the same transmitter you are. Then it also comes down to what they are using as backhaul. Many cellular towers are fed by Fiber.

The point Im making, You may not be under the 1TB cap with AT&T. It depends on the service LEVEL you purchase. That will depend on what's available in your area.

Yes I get you but it is the 1tb I've had them before as an ISP in the same area
