I had my mic (yeti pro), webcam (some old logitech one), my mouse (newer logitech one, and my DAC (Fulla 2). My guess I ran into both data and power issues.

All of that can use a single usb3 bandwidth.

The problem is when the device rely on the usb to power it on.

To solve this you can get a active usb hubs, the one with it's own adapter.

I've recently moved my computer and I can't get all of my usb cables to my computer. I tried using a standard usb hub that I already had but it overloaded the usb connections using so many high need devices in a 4 port going into only 1 port. Linus has shown in the past that he can use thunderbolt to solve this problem. I don't have thunderbolt though so is there any solution or do I just have to buy extender cables and suck it up? Thanks!

If you have some money there is thunderbolt pcie cards keep in mind I’m not sure if it works if mobo doesn’t support (someone have to verify that for me)

Reminder⚠️

I'm just speaking from experience so what I say may not work 100%

Please try searching up the answer before you post here but I am always glad to help

there are USB3.0 ports if you're running into bandwidth limitations (unless you're runing into THAT limitation then idk)

im using a 7 port USB 3.0 hub, there are hubs with more than 4 ports

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately

I'm running into bandwidth limitations yes, I tried mine and it just kept on jumping from device to device trying to run them all.

You are either running into two issues:

  • A data issue
  • A power delivery issue.

What do you have plugged into it? That will more than likely tell you which it is so we can recommend you a solution.

hmm this shouldnt saturate a 3.0 link, maybe a 3.0 hub would help? or you're already using one

personally using 2.0 connection (on a 3.0 hub, coz i dont have 3.0 extension yet) for very similar setup, minus the DAC

havent had any issues even with my webcam transmiting 720p60 footage (logitech c922)

i recommend getting a powered hub btw

I just swapped to a different usb extension and it seems to be working now but I'll look into one of those for a better long term solution

Yeah, some usb hubs are just poorly made.

Powered hubs are always better, as it remove the stress on the usb port.
