static pagefile size

Go to solution Solved by LogicalDrm,

40Gb? Just no. You are all good with using 8Gb or 16Gb. It just needs to be enough to juggle around stuff from certain software.

im wanting to create a static pagefile for my windows 10 gaming pc that way the os will always have a set amount im not sure what to set for 16gb of physical memory i was thinking 40,960 what do you guys think? also please dont tell me to let windows manage it i dont wanna do that at the moment i cant really afford more physical ram so i want a large static pagefile on my 4tb platter drive since i do loads of web surfing and gaming

I've always set manual mode on all my PC's,..

2GB Minimum (Saving the Default 8-16GB default minimums)
32GB Maximum, I used to use 16GB, now 32, as time goes on, probably move to 64GB..

I have plenty of SSD space and it HARDLY actually gets used..
I just open the Taps,.. and leave it be.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

would there be any performance gain or stability issues by just turning off paging? i also have 32 gigs so there shouldnt be much reason for page files aside from windows being dumb

@VeganJoy stability issues maybe maybe not the pagefile is used for things in memory i.e. it will move things out of memory and into the page file if they arent needed or being used right away to free up more physical ram for what is needed so not having a page file isnt that bad but it does cause windows to use more of your physical; ram
