Hello,

I'm currently in the process of building a new pc for light to medium gaming at 1080p and have decided on most of my parts.

However i'm currently facing an issue of whether to go for a nvidia gpu or amd one.

Namely i'm looking at either r9 270x or something like a gtx 670 / 760.

The prices for the amd cards are pretty bad, which is making me consider nvidia.

1. Powercolor R9 270x 2GB Devil OC $349.00 (does anyone have any experience with the performance of this card?)

2. MSI GTX 670 PE 2GB $379.00

3. MSI GTX 760 GAMING 2GB $405.00

4. MSI GTX 680 2GB $400.00

(Note, these prices are in SGD)

Which GPU do you guys think i should buy?

Or should i go for something like a gtx 750Ti for around $280? Since Amd cards for 1080p are so expensive and 760 and above seems overkill.

I say you should get the 270X, it's not that much worse than the GTX 760, the $50 price difference is what you have to take into consideration and decide if you want the extra 5-10% performance increase.

Most of the parts are already purchased / shipping, bought them on sales and such.

For the gpu budget i'm actually thinking of around $300 but i can bump up to $400 if necessary. (would like it to be lower though)

I'm also inclined to go for the 680 since its pretty much the same as a 760 in price. but i don't necessarily need that much raw power.

Performance wise i'm looking at around decent 45-60fps at 1080p in medium to high settings. Nothing too fancy.

Those prices are insanely high. I'd say get a 680/770 if you can (whichever of the two is cheaper, they're the same card) or if not get a 670/760 because they're damn close too but perform better than a 270x.

Looking at gpu prices for my country makes me cringe everytime

my total budget is around 1500-1700 SGD (would like to keep it as price to performance as possible)

most of the other parts already purchased total to around 1000 SGD

case, cpu/mobo, cooler, ram.

I already have the ssd / hdd.

Whats left is the gpu / psu which have a budget of around 300-400 and 100-130.

I'd grab the 680. Its got better performance then the 760 and is cheaper.
