The Amd bottleneck.

One of my friend has Pentium D 820 along with a GTX 660Ti which he bought a while ago...its funny to see how he can use only 60-70% of its potential...LOL... :)

Funny? 60-70% gpu loads with that cpu is amazing.

I believe I can legitimately answer your question. My htpc has an Athlon 750k in it. When I get home I will put one of my 660tis in it and tell you how it performs

Thank you and hope to hear some good news from you.

How will a Amd Athlon x4 760k/750k bottleneck with a GTX760 card if games like.BF4,TF2,L4D2 are played??p.s. just curious as the Athlons are really good cpu from what i've heard.

another bottlenecking thread

2ghz 6670 1080p

it wont bottleneck, hes my phenom at 2ghz on slick beach benchmark. i know its a 6670 but you're always gpu limited first.

you can play bf4 on 2 cores, 3+ is preferable and with 4 threads youll be under around 70% cpu usage, not limited.

Its funny that the gpu is sitting there half of the time doing nothing...its a huge bottleneck mate...

60-70% of its full potential should mean a 60-70% gpu load, thats not really "half of the time doing nothing".

Have u heard of the term Latency...??? If u have then u shouldn't be saying that...gpu is not working all the time bcoz of this latency of the cpu resulting from bottlenecking...

And how does this have anything to do with the fact that gpu performance scales lineairly with the gpu load?

U r getting confused of ur own...i didnt even said anything about linearity b/w performance and gpu load...

But fps wont drop a lot will it and the 760 can still play BF4 at ultra at playable fps??

you might have... 3fps and probably 0 fps in campaign.

My friend's I3 got 3 fps in bf3 campaign. Mark my words.

You should get a mantle compatible card. AMd 7000 series +

r9 and r7.

CPU: Ryzen 2600 GPU: RX 6800 RAM: ddr4 3000Mhz 4x8GB  MOBO: MSI B450-A PRO Display: 4k120hz with freesync premium.

The i3 isn't the issue there.

Read our conversation again. You're not making sense if you say the gpu is on 60-70% of its potential and a post later its half of the time doing nothing. Then you brought latency up from the cpu (although its the wrong word) that doesnt have anything to do with the fact that a 60-70% gpu load would be 60-70% of its max potential being used.

Congratulations on your notice and useless remark ! Want a cookie?

What's your problem then?

My friend's I3 got 3 fps in bf3 campaign. Mark my words.

Suggesting the i3 is a bottleneck- it isn't to the extent you're saying.

So then I check your signature and see this.

"Correct me if I'm wrong, no ego barrier"

Thanks for the laugh.

Because of the low end CPU the GPU will not be working all the time...it will be waiting for the cpu to process the data which the gpu took only half the time processing it...so it will be sitting idle and waiting for the cpu to complete the processing and then it will be provide it with new data for processing....if u can't get it now also then...u r really dumb... :P

You're not making sense. We all know the cpu was bottlenecking here, wake up.

1. First you said the 760 is at 60-70% of its max potential.

2. In your 2nd quote you say half of the time doing nothing. Doing nothing in that context, Id take it as the cpu bottlenecking massively eg 10-20% gpu loads with miserable frames like 5-10. See #1

3. GPU isnt working all the time. Whats up with it? See #1 again.

Don't call people dumb if you can't even follow your own discussion.

Chu...u cant get anything coz u think u already r genius...i will not try to make u understand coz u realy r dumb...u first of all dont knw how the whole bottlnecking thing works...see some linus videos first about bottlenecking then we will talk...
