Nexus Mod Manager
Hey there.

I... don't believe Nexus Mod Manager has malware packaged in it? The program might raise a false positive however, because NMM can install and update mods without user permission. I've used it in the past, and I can say I definitely don't recall it being flagged by my antivirus/antimalware. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

There are alternative Skyrim Mod Managers (not a comprehensive list):
- Mod Organizer 2 - All-in-One Mod Manager for Skyrim SE, Skyrim, Oblivion, Morrowind, Fallout 4, Fallout NV, Fallout 3, Etc.
- TesModManager - All-in-One Mod Manager for Skyrim SE, Skyrim, Oblivion, and Morrowind.
Been a while since I've played Skyrim and messed around with its mods, so I forget whether there are certain compatibility issues or not with the Mod Managers above. I'd suggest checking their pages for installation instructions. Also unsure how to define "trustworthy" they are (I'm not well-versed in antivirus and security talk), but I believe every file that's uploaded to Nexus Mods has been scanned for viruses (VirusTotal), and the files have been used and well-liked by the Skyrim modding community.
