Time for new peripherals

Go to solution Solved by OnionRings,

Oh, it is only 60... well, I suppose I will try it then, it looks similar to the g602 except its by razer and probably lighter as it only uses 1 battery compared to 2. I will snag a double pack of rechargeables and play swapsies when it dies.

Hey all. Looking for advice for a good mouse and keyboard.

For the mouse, I really prefer wireless because of my setup and I really just dislike chords getting possibly snagged on something while gaming, I currently use the Logitech G602 wireless mouse, and its been SUPER solid for like 3 years, however recently I've been getting this weird thing where it " stutters ", it seems to almost disconnect very briefy and just stutter when it tracks and even noticed when I hold down the left click (like ADSing in a game) that it will just release even though the key is pressed. I *think* that it may be because either the mouse is old and dying, or because my mouse pad is disgusting, its 3 years old too and has built up alot of dirt and grime over the years.

Anyway with that long ass paragraph gone, I was looking at the G604, it looks like a better 602 but its also like double the price. I do prefer a few side buttons, some games I like to have some side buttons for hotkeys, but I don't need as many buttons as like the razer naga or w.e it is, with the like 9 buttons.

For the keyboard I am currently using some sort of a gigabyte board, it was like 40$ on amazon, it has real cherry MX switches and tenkey but no bells and wistles, no lights or any of that, been a solid board for years. I do prefer red keys, as they feel good for gaming and typing, like a solid mid ground.

LOL I probably should but how do you wash a mouse pad without damaging it?

Budget... eh... I'd rather not spend 100 each, but if its REALLY good and worth it, then maybe.

I thought I mentioned mouse preferences, my bad? Wireless, couple side buttons but not too many.

Hmm well I don't know much about weights, I've only ever used 2 mice, they were both pretty light, I've never had an accidental lift off or anything. Size would be medium to large, I have medium/large hands. The size of the G602 was almost perfect, only complaint was id occasionally hit the closest side button with my thumb but it wasnt a big deal.

other than the g604, if you would like to stay wireless, you can check out the razer basilisk x hyperspeed, or if you  are ok with having less buttons the g703 should be in your budget but it is smaller.

Hmm... maybe ill give the G604 a try, the razer one doesnt have enough buttons, same for the g703.

the GHub software isnt great, but it works, you can set up an onboard profile and forget about it.

I think the g hub software is horrible. I’ve used a g703 for almost 16 months now and it started double clicking on the right mouse button. I started a rma ticket with Logitech for a replacement.

@Oswin suggested the Razer basilisk x hyper speed and I bought it. Been using it for a few days now and the mouse is awesome. It takes a AA battery so you don’t have to worry about it dying compared to the g703 built in battery.

I have a g502, g703 and the Razer basilisk x hyperspeed and the Razer is by far my favorite. It’s literally a wireless G502 that takes a battery but costs $90 less. Well worth the $50 I got it for

Yea my fear is the double click, saw it on amazon review too. Could it be older models though? You did say 16 months ago, and the amazon review was october 2019. I really want the g703 but im afraid... I mean I always have my g602 as a backup if I need to RMA it... idk, let me see what the basilisk is going for, last night it was like the same price as the g703.

it weighs roughly 100 grams with batteries, 30 grams lighter than a g602 with a single battery.

The Razer bas x is the same size and shape as the g502, literally a clone of it with a different dpi button and scroll wheel. When @Oswin told me about it I knew I had to order it. I have a g502 and I love it but I hate the cord. I wasn’t gonna spend $150 for the wireless g502, that’s non sense. I like the g703 don’t get me wrong, but it feels to small in my hand and I have to pinch it harder then I’d like to hold it, the Razer has the thumbrest that I love

Hyperspeed is def lighter than the g602, I assume because of the 1 battery VS 2.
