Internet

Kindstorm

net.PNG.1205b97f195e1925532e963ad223297d.PNGI have this router from a long time called " NPLAY - Dual-band router (gigabits) " which offers to 1 GB of internet, but I only get 10mbps. Now, I made an ookla sp eed test and it said this:

My PC specs are fairly modern: Intel core i7-7700HQ, GTX 1050TI, 8gb or ram, windoes 10 pro, etc.

I don't believe, that my pc bottlenecks the internet, but sadly I still don't know.932928917_net2.PNG.75d8cfbdf930f6028f2049f87dee122e.PNG

Later, I checked dWhat.PNG.f5daed623d6a0fdb1759fdcba6f72043.PNGeeped into the PC

Hmm, so i get 10mbps downloading, 145.26 mbps downloading from ookla and 1gbps deep into my settings.

Now, i tried downloading again >>>>

Well... 10.3 mbps as always

What should I do?? My internet IS right next to me! there;re no obstacles!

With ethernet its the same

My carrier is NetWorx

Please, help.

you do realize that steam measures in megabytes per second by default instead of megabits per second. a megabit is 1/8 of a megabyte

To add to what was said above, what internet speeds do you pay for? Just because your Ethernet port on your computer is capable of handling 1Gbps, doesn’t mean that’s what you will get, you will still get what you pay for.

Steam isn't known for having a high download speed (fast downloads require a fast connection from the sender and receiver), but Steam also measures in megabytes, not megabits, which Ookla does. A megabit is 1000 kilobits, while a megabyte is 1024 kilobytes.

You're backwards here.. steam measures in megaBYTES... while almost everything else is measured in megaBITS... 8 bits = 1 byte.
