Have you updated the BIOS before installing the new CPU?

is it a z170 chipset? you'll need a bios update to support 7000 cpu if thats the case

you'll need a 6000 series cpu to do that, unless your motherboard have bios flash feature

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately

If you haven't updated the BIOS -> your board has a BIOS currently incompatible with the i7 7700K

Place back your old CPU and update the BIOS.

I had a 15 6600k

Keep in mind it's Z170, not 7170. It's i7 7700K, not 17 7700K. It's not 15 6600K, it's i5 6600K.

From context I was able to tell what you meant; but with Googling and such it's easier to have the correct wording (since you have to look up your motherboard to download the newest BIOS, for example).

Doesn't bother me at all; your post was very readible. It was more of a 'heads up', since Googling would be more difficult without the proper names

Could you take a picture of the screen it's getting stuck on?

Was your Windows working fine beforehand?

Normally this shouldn't happen because of a CPU swap.

If you press Advanced Options > Continue, does that throw you back into the same loop?
