Gskill trident Z neo vs trident Z rgb.. which one? Help

Ok so i am going to upgrade ram.. i am wanting to get the gskill trident z.. but theres two models, the z neo and the z rgb, which should i go for? I have heard the neo is more optimised for AMD, i have intel i5 8600k, in that case will neo give me any benefit? Why i am leaning towards the z rgb is because its all black. Please help.

check your motherboard's QVL

if both are on there, then whichever have lower latency/higher frequency

or whichever pleases your eyes

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately

go to your motherboard's website, there should be a document listing all the validated parts

example:

search for RAM category, and ctrl+F your ram's exact model

just do take note that even if the RAM isnt on the QVL, it will probably work but not guaranteed

That doesn't matter. Any ram should work just fine. As the imc is pretty good on the 8600k.

What are both kits priced at. What latency? What frequency?

Yeah after fiddling all.. i did find the list and no. Neither neo nor z rgb are on list 😞 ..  the one available in my place and is cl 16 is the these two models which i mentioned..  what do i do now? Also the neo is more optimised for amd..does that mean it will work worse on intel?

it'll probably still work, QVL is just there to be sure

if both are similar in spec, then idk if there are any diff

frequency 3600 on both latency 16 19 19 39 on both.. the neo is little more expensive, whats better in neo?  the neo is more optimised for amd..does that mean it will work worse on intel?

Docp is just another name for xmp. So yes technically.

Nothing. It's just Branding sadly. Both of these aren't b die either way. You can find a kit that's 16-16-16 and that'll probably be cheaper because the trident z brand as a whole is just a branded lineup really. You lay for the rgb and the brand.

Pretty much yea.  AMD calls it docp and Intel calls it xmp. ( Though some AMD boards still call it xmp).

so like what do i check to get a b die? i am sure there are b die rams in the loacl shop, high end ones.. but the latency in all of them is higher,, the ones i mentioned are the only ones which are CL16 at 3600 mhz.. should i instead opt for like something which is CL18 but a b die?

That's not b die. B die usually has tight timings. Like 16-16-16.

Micron rev e, usually has high frequencies but loose timings. You can get these kits if you want. It's just imo they're overpriced unless you really need the rgb.

do take note that CL does affect performance, but it's not a lot

take pricing into consideration as well

theres one with cl 16 16 16 but its 3000 mhz.. also can u tell if the neo has anything physically better than the rgb one? like quality ? also the cl 16 or 18 is i believe the first number right? do the next 3 number being more matters? the gskill neo and rgb are the only 3600 ones with first number being 16 that i can get.. all others are starting with 18

Nope for the most part.

I mean they're latency. The cl is the most important one for a causal user though.

If you're only limited to these two. Then I guess get the cheaper one.
