Hello everyone,

I am thinking about upgrading my gtx 1060, to a rtx 2070 super. I have a question about the wattage I need, at this moment I have a 650 watt psu, my specs are as followed
Processor: Intel core i5 9600k
Ram: Corsair vengeance rgb pro 16gb 3200 mhz
Processor cooler: Corsair hydro h115i rgb platinum liquid cooler
Motherboard: Msi gaming pro carbon
Graphics card: Msi gtx 1060 Gaming x 6gb
Psu: Corsair rm650x
Storage: Samsung 860 EVO 500GB, Samsung 860 EVO 1TB
Fans: Corsair LL120 rgb Dual light loop triple pack, 2 coolermaster MF200R rgb.
Extra's: NZXT internal USB Hub, 4 corsair led strips, corsair k95 rgb platinum
The card I want to upgrade to is a: msi rtx 2070 super gaming z trio.
Can someone please help me, I am really not sure if it is going to have enough.

You have plenty of wattage and a good quality PSU, no problems here.

 

However, I'd highly suggest waiting for Ampere to come out later this year for a bigger jump in performance.

It's not perfect but for a ballpark estimate it is good, there really isn't a good way to know without already having the system together and measuring the power draw. It is certainly a lot better than pcpartpickers estimate

i would avoid any psu calculator in all honesty.

quick question.  Do I need a 750W PSU? For this build? The PSU is quiet expensive for me (I dont mind spending it, but it is expensive)

If I dont need 750W and there is a cheaper and better psu could you link it for me? Thanks.

No you don't. A 550w is more than enough.
