My computer randomly starts freezing and going really slow sometimes and I have to restart it to fix it temporarily until it comes back the next day or so. When it does this, it doesn't freeze completely, but it starts spazzing out to the point where I can't even see what's causing the problem in task manager, even if I ctrl + alt + delete. Any help?

What speed is your RAM running at? Do you have XMP enabled? You can check RAM speed in CPU-Z and XMP in BIOS.

CPU: AMD Athlon 200GE

Mobo: Gigabyte B450MDS3H

RAM: Corsair Vengance LPX DDR4 3000Mhz

GPU: Asus ROG Strix RX570 4GB

1TB HDD, Windows 10 64-bit

🤔 So does it happen during certain intensive activities like gaming or does it happen no matter what you are going? Have you checked your resource monitor screen to see if your ram is being swallowed up by standby memory? Your computer will freeze whenever it runs out of ram, so it is a distinct possibility, especially with you only having 8 gbs. Ideally, you'll want it to look more like mines below (I have 32 gbs of ram).

I'm pretty sure it happens when i have a ton of chrome tabs and windows opened. So if i want to have all these tabs opened while still being able to play, should i get more and faster ram or just more ram?

I also emptied standby memory using RamMap, which might help in preventing these freezes, but if ram is the issue, then i'll probably look to get more ram.

Yeah I'd get another 8 gbs and call it a day. You only have 1 gig of space left in that image because of the standby memory, so apps like ran map will only do so much for you. More ram should solve the issue.

1330.6 mhz, and I'm not sure how to check if i have xmp enabled when i get to bios

So your RAM is running at double that speed due to double data rate (DDR) ie 2666mhz. If you know at what speed the RAM you bought was rated at ie (2666,3000 mhz etc) then you'll know if it is running at full capacity. My RAM was rated at 3000mhz but wasn't running at that speed until I turned on XMP in BIOS. You should be able to find it in options related to RAM in BIOS, but as the BIOS of all mobo brands are different, you might have to click around to find it.

Is this a new Windows install? Any bloatware on the system that might be eating up your RAM?
