Gap between bezel and backlight on GL850

It's normal.

Hi there. I recently picked up an LG GL850. I just noticed that when looking at the monitor from an off center angle or from less than 1 foot, it appears that there is a shadow line under the bezel (I have attached some photos of what I am describing). What I am describing is not visible when looking at the monitor from center at a normal viewing distance.

This is my first IPS panel, so I am curious to see whether or not this is a problem or just me being picky/paranoid that I got a defective product. I'm well within return period if anything.

Thank you, that is what I was thinking. I also noticed that there seems to be some defects in the anti glare coating: https://imgur.com/a/0POUzhw. Nothing on the visible portion of the screen itself, but in the corner right before the plastic outer bezel there appears to be light spots. I initially thought that these were just bubbles in plastic covering the screen, but then realized it was just the anti glare coating. Any ideas whether or not this is worth getting a replacement for?

That's pretty normal too. Mine has them too, you never see them again once it's on your desk.
