First time build, unknown issues, please help!

Go to solution Solved by Thespacebartender,

Alright, I installed the Radeon Adrenalin software and drivers, and that somehow fixed it. Thank you all so much.

Alright I'm still learning some basics and I'm a little bit out of my depth, but any help would be GREATLY appreciated, so please bare with me because any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

I just built my first computer. Specs are as follows:

R9 3900X

Sapphire Nitro+ 5700XT

X570 Tomahawk

Intel 660p

G. Skill Trident Z Neo 16GB 3600 CL16

Corsair RM850x

Fractal Meshify S2

I am having some strange and seemingly related issues. The first is that I have no sound. The device seems to be detected and up-to-date in driver manager. The other issue is that when attempting to troubleshoot the sound issue I loaded up a few videos on Edge and Firefox from YouTube, Disney+, and Netflix, and invariably the pages stopped responding. (i think it's when they try to load flash?)

I don't really know what else to include here, so if I'm missing anything that might be helpful I am sorry but I will provide it.

I am on a fresh install of windows, but I am embarrassed to say I have not updated the BIOS or any MB related drivers because the tomahawk is so new I assumed it would ship up-to-date. I will go look for a new BIOS version, but I have to further embarrass myself by asking how ill know which drivers to update? Like I said, the driver manager didn't find any available updates.

Thank you very much.

Maybe you connected it via HDMi cable,so check in taskbar where time/clock is what is set under output sound,if it's your monitor switch it to realtek sound (wspeakers) whatever...

Please do not take offence for my apparent confusion or rudeness,it's not intent me to be like that,it's just my BPD,be nice to me,and I'll return twice better,be rude and usually I get easly pissed of...I'll try to help anyone here,as long as it's something I dealt with, and even if you think I'm rude or not polite, forgive me,  it's not me it's my BPD.

Thanks for understanding.

The fact that the device is showing in device manager, makes me think that its a settings issue, so i would try that before updating bios.

First I would check your sound settings as suggested by frozensun ,

Go to start menu search bar and type in change system sounds and select it the tab playback, then right click all the different audio devices and click "test". Once you get sound in your headphones(or the audio device your using) set that that one to "Default device" and "Default communication Device".

-With motherboard drivers, the simplest way is to use the cd that comes with the motherboard or go to the motherboard website and download them. (https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/support/MAG-X570-TOMAHAWK-WIFI#down-driver&Win10 64 then drivers then On-Board Audio Drivers.

Also I just realised you have included what your trying to get the audio to out from,

-is it a Monitor, if so then you need to either make sure that your using HDMI cable or a seperate audio cable.

- is it speakers?

-is it Headset?

If you can include the specs for the audio device.

I am trying to output the audio to my monitor, which currently is a TV under generic pnp monitor. I am connected through a single HDMI from the first available port in the GPU. When I open sound settings, there is only one device available - Digital Audio (S/PDIF) (High Definition Audio), which sounds like a generic driver, but when I try to replace it with the Realtek HD audio driver from MSI, it says I already have the best driver installed.
