Haven't heard of that before.  Can you explain how it works and how the monetation works also?

What's the compression like,  and is there a catch?

It uses its own crypto currency called LBC which people can buy and donate to their favourite creators and the downsides are Lbry restricts  uploads to one gb and they suggest you upload your files in 720p and with a bitrate under 5 Mbps but apart from that it is great and is decentralized and has a desktop app you can download. I suggest you watch this video about it

My Laptop: A MacBook Air

My Desktop: Don’t have one

My Phone: An Honor 8s (although I don’t recommend it)

My Favourite OS: Linux

My Console: A Regular PS4

My Tablet: A Huawei Mediapad m5

Re export your video, I cannot think of any reason your video is that big for only 30 minutes. That’s about 1gb per minute.

@Snowarch Install Handbrake, and transcode your video to the "Web - Vimeo/Youtube HQ 1080p60" preset. That should get the file size down significantly.

As others have said, a 30 min Youtube video shouldn't be 30GB

Thanks for reading all this by the way!

By the way, my desktop is a docked laptop. Get over it, No seriously, I have an exterrnal monitor, keyboard, mouse, headset, ethernet and cooling fans all connected. Using it feels no different to a desktop, it works for several hours if the power goes out, and disconnecting just a few cables gives me something I can take on the go. There's enough power for all games I play and it even copes with basic (and some not-so-basic) video editing. Give it a go - you might just love it.
