Hello, just completed my first build, but I was wondering if I am facing bottleneck somewhere. It mostly play Rainbow Six Siege, but I noticed fps aren't as high as expected. They stay around 90-110 fps at 1080p. My target is to stay on an avg fps of 144

Specs:

msi optix G271 144hz

Ryzen 5 2600x (Stock Cooler, Precision Boost Overdrive Enabled)

GTX 1080 Founders Edition (No overclock)

G Skill Trident Z RGB (For Amd) 3600Mhz 16GB (Currently at 2800Mhz, 1.36v, timings 18, 22, 22, 42, higher speeds make the game crash or blue screen and not so sure how to overclock it)

Asus Tuf B450 Gaming Plus (Atx motherboard)

Game on a Seagate 7200rpm barracuda hdd

Monitorig with afterburner I saw like a max of CPU usage of 72% and Gpu max usage of 80-86%

All settings on the highest with anti-aliasing on T-AA render scale of 100% so it's true 1080p. I tried lowering the settings but notices higher cpu usage and lower gpu usage and fps seems to maintain the around the same.

Technically there's no Bottleneck. But I wouldn't expect a 1080 to struggle with that game.

Enable xmp / docp.

Set the soc to 1.15 and then try 3200.

Set the power limit for your GPU to max.

Ddu the drivers.

Edit.

At what graphical settings as well?

check ur soc voltage in bios, needs to be 1.1v or slightly higher to push ram higher, it's a cpu/mem bottleneck.

highly recommend getting an ssd

Siege will run on a potato. You should be able to stay at 144fps at 1080p with that build, something ain’t right here

Did as you said now RAM is at 3200Mhz. I see 50-70% GPU utilization, I even encreased the render scale to like 80 and saw no difference in framerates. Is it normal that the cpu says bas clock 4Ghz but actually stays lower? Also could my RAM timing be the ones causing the problem (currently 18,22,22,42)?

(The game is on an SSD WD green not a really good one but even in hdd it shouldn't give frame rate problems)

All game settings are at the highest, GPU power limit set to max aswell.

I even set the GPU fan speed to 100% stays 60-80°

-- CPU is on STOCK Cooler --

* In some map places I do see fps jump to 160 or so, shouldn't it stay locked around there always

.

while the ram timings arent optimal it shouldn't be that much of a bottleneck, the gpu seems to be boosting correctly, depends on the game there will be a bottleneck at 1080p for a 2600x, hopefully it's not too much and it's serviceable , i dont recommend upgrading anything til zen 3 comes out
