Hi I was playing rust with my 1070 that hasn't had any issues before now and I suddenly received some texture glitching so I restarted and checked again only this time I was having triangles and stuff appear on my windows desktop. I'm really upset as I only recently got this card and this is the first time it has artifacted. Does anyone here know of this could be a one off? Could the artifacting be gone by tomorrow?

Any help will be appreciated.

do you have any overclock applied? If so, remove them and test again. Also, are your drivers up to date? Did you install the card after swapping it with a different one? If so, use DDU and wipe all your drivers and reinstall 100% fresh. If those all fail, then the card is failing, usually from faulty memory chips.

If its not overclocked and its doing it at stock clocks, its very likely its a hardware issue.

I would DDU it https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html and after that install the newest driver, and if that doesn't work, its extremely likely its a hardware issue.

Glitching without crashing is a sign of GPU RAM errors. Glitching and crashing is the GPU itself. If it's only recently started doing this, just let the machine cool down to cold, use compressed air on the GPU to blow dust out of it, and see if the problem goes away.  Make sure it's STONE COLD. If you use compressed air on a warm machine it will crack warm parts.

If you got it used and it was previously a mining rig card, it's very likely it's been "damaged" from being used that way, but you might not have any way to verify. I would return it if it was sold as new.

Does it go away?  Like spontaneously?  No.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Life is like a bowl of chocolates: there are all these little crinkly paper cups everywhere.
