IPHONE Reset

my uncle gave me a iphone 7 and he doesn't know the icloud password is there a way to reset it so i can put my account on it

ive tried getting him to do that and he is inept i may just have to wait til im there in person with him again and get him to fix lmao

Get him to a apple store, and have them manually reset the phone.

Factory reset won't clear the lock. Android phones also do this.

It would stay locked even if you wipe the phone.

i live in a state where the closest one is 3 to 4 hours a away and hes in his 70s i doubt thats gonna happen lol thats though

yeah thats what im trying to see if theres a way around it hopfully i can get him to realize how to reset password next time i see him

If the phone is locked before reset, it would stay locked.

This is a standard in every smartphone right now, although in android you can still find a way around it.

In iphones only apple can unlock your phone.

i can get in the phone fine it just cant reset with out him knowing the password know what i mean

Call apple, find the best solution, just don't wipe it, it would make things more complicated.

apple wont do anything because i dont know info he would to reset though right and im trying to make it so i can remove his icloud account factory reset and then make it my phone

Have you tried reseting the icloud password?

Have him remember the email, and fiddle out the personal questions, usually generic question like dogs name, mothers name etc.
