Hey!, so by now iguess everyone have a ssd in their system, and if not get one.

but for the ones that have one. how the bloody hell do you keep it from filling up ?, for some reason my 120gig is full, after the os install it wasnt more than 20ish left and each time i install someting regardless if i manualy install the stuff i want to D drive it still fills up my bootup drive, any idea how i can stop this from happening ?

Install programs only on it. have a second HDD as bulk storage for media and games. Just have to keep track of what and where you are installing and downloading.

Make sure you haven't partitioned it weirdly.

When you install programs make sure you direct it to install to a drive other than your ssd? Also, an operating system doesn't take up 100 gigs.

the idea is to install programs onto the SSD (unless it's really small like 40 GB) to get the benefit of the SSD speeds.

Make sure you empty your temp folder, and move your browser Download folder to a different drive. That is what worked for me.

i have done this. still racks up space and i cant even find the files its like a fucking abyss in there

When you install programs make sure you direct it to install to a drive other than your ssd? Also, an operating system doesn't take up 100 gigs.

always redirect to my hdd, but still ome parts of the file get into C drive (SSD), mine does apperently, i was shocked by this myself but after installing it i only had 20 or so gigs left, win 7 ultimate. shouldnt be more than like 20 gigs never really looked into it tbh

Install programs only on it. have a second HDD as bulk storage for media and games. Just have to keep track of what and where you are installing and downloading.

Make sure you haven't partitioned it weirdly.

this what i did. idk sometimg must have gone wrong. iguess its time to go against my guts and do what i always say i shouldnt, wich is dont mess with stuff that works lol-

That actually makes a stupid amount of sense. Disable your page file because you likely don't need it. :P

Think of the page file as a copy of your ram on your boot drive. It creates the same amount of space on your boot drive as the amount of ram you have to act as overflow and a buffer. Since you have 64 gigs you pretty much have no use for it. So if you disable your page file you free up 64 gigs of space on your ssd.

Probably just windows being dumb. Might be a driver issue. Just reinstall

windows is always retarded... kinda looks like i have to do a reinstall regardless if i want or not. since there was no paging file. wich is strange.
