Quick OS Help!

I am planning on getting Windows 8.1 on a new system. However, it says "Only compatible with windows 7" on the bottom. Could you install Windows 8.1, or would you need to upgrade from Windows 7?

If it can run Windows 7 then Windows 8.1 will work on it. You want to double check if there are Windows 8.1 drivers available for it first though.
