So what you recommend?

that EVGA psu can go, whenever you get the time to replace it. the VS unit is fine, but you can replace that if you get the time, as it's definitely not optimal

It is but human, to err, to buy a PSU, akin to dirt,

but fret not, young Padawan, for we will tell you,

what will become, of that, which you have earned

in all seriousness, get the cx unit i linked earlier, if you can. It's heaps better

This might explain why Corsair no longer list my VS550 on their website anymore.

As pointed out, its listed, but it got replaced by the CV series, where the 450 and 550w models are just upgraded VS.

650w model being a different design with DC-DC regulation

yes, which brings us th the beginning of this thread. don't buy a CV550, get a CX550 for £63

Not replaced. They're different models. The VS product line still exists alongside the CV.

The VS550 is listed on the UK Corsair website. https://www.corsair.com/uk/en/Categories/Products/Power-Supply-Units/vs-series-config-2018/p/CP-9020171-UK

If you have the VS550 there's no reason to swap it for a CV550. Either keep the VS550 or if you want to upgrade your power supply buy something that is actually an improvement otherwise you're just spending money and ending up with basically the same power supply you already had.

Ah, my misstake.

I assumed it replaced it considering its the exact same thing with an efficiency upgrade, and it slots into the exact same place in the lineup.
