How bad is optimum?

I was just wondering, My mom keeps asking about it and I am not sure if we should switch from comcast (24 mb down)

to optimum.

Btw I barley know anything about these isps (I do know that they are full of ***LinusTechTips***)

I have the 50/15(?) plan and it works great. Cheapest ISP around here (if you have the triple play, don't know without it), no data caps, always get higher than advertised speeds.

Only thing to watch out for is that they block hosting ports like 80,443 etc for non business plans if that would be a problem.

Well I use them just cuz they are the ONLY thing in my area so prices might be different, but I have the "Best" service and it is only 30/5, but that could be cuz they are the only one so there is no competition. I dont think they throttle that much compared to what I have heard about from others with other ISPs. But overall they are still a scumbag ISP that charges way to much for what you get.

What would that mean? (The ports)

If you wanted to host a website or something you would have to use non-standard ports. If you don't know about them I doubt it will ever be a problem.
