Do you know when the new gen is coming out , I’m assuming it is in 2021

GPUs should be available for purchase in about 2-3 months (hopefully closer to 2) and CPUs should be this year but I don’t know an estimated month.

I am far from an expert in this so please correct me if I’m wrong.

Computer I would guess around $1250 if the GPUs are as powerful as I hope

Full system (computer, monitor, keyboard, mouse, and audio): probably around $1750

But consider if 240hz Is worth it over 144hz. You will most likely not be able to tell a difference. 144hz requires a lot less power and some great budget monitors exist for 144hz and I don’t think any budget 240hz exist.

you definitely need to spend more than $3700, a monitor must be at least 1 grand

How’d you get that? A 2070 super and 3600 should be able to get 240hz at 1080p fortnite and there are monitors in the 300 range that support 280hz.

just to clarify:

you can't upgrade an all in one computer as it's just like a laptop inside but without the lid

don't get a mac, you can't play games on it and just the monitor stand will cost you $1000 rofl

now serious question, what's the point of 240 FPS? like... what's really the point of playing something at that framerate?

it won't even look better as the images will move so fast you won't even notice the ingame details, not very sure about prices but you definitely need to spend more than $3700, a monitor must be at least 1 grand and the rest for the build

Is there a massive price difference in price beetween 144fps and 240fps setups

It’s a complete guess because we don’t know what next gen parts are like but a complete setup would probably be around $1750.
Do you need a mouse, keyboard, or headphones/speakers?

There would be a multiple hundred dollar difference. Monitors are probably like 2x the cost for 240 vs 144 and the gpu will need to be a tier or two higher.

And once again, you will most likely not see a difference between 144 and 240. Especially compared to whatever you are used to now.
