so i'm planning on replacing my super old cpu and motherboard, which is an intel quad q8300 (pisstake) with a new cpu and mobo.

CPU:  AMD FX-6300 3.5GHz 6-Core Processor  (£77.99 @ Aria PC)
Motherboard:  Asus M5A78L-M/USB3 Micro ATX AM3+ Motherboard  (£48.94 @ Scan.co.uk)
Total: £126.93
(Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available.)

i went the AMD route to save money just because i don't want to spent lots. This will be paired with an ASUS GTX 670 DCUII.

will this be alot better than my current setup now? what are your thoughts on the FX-6300?

It'll run laps around your current, you should be fine.

Maybe not maxing settings, but decent.

The 6300 is awesome (Especially for it's price), all bias aside, the chip is a six core processor, that can be Overclocked, and can run like a champ. Especially for it's super low pricing.

it will be better, but i'd stick with the core 2 quad. But thats just me

core 2 quad is sooo old, it came out like 2009/2010. i can barely play BF4 and run like 30 fps.

Why not get a GTX 760?

no point, i'd rather stick to the 670 seeing as the 760 is similar to the 670 anyway...

I don't know, battlefield 4 is piece of garbage, I have a fx-8320 and I get terrible bottlenecks in battlefield 4 while same people with same cpu are running the game just fine. It's a gamble really.

Fx-8320 Clocked@ 4.5Ghz, 2 * 4GB Corsair Vengeance Blue, 2 * Gigabyte rev1.0 R9 280x's, 2TB Seagate Drive, Gigabyte 990fxa-ud3 rev4.0 mobo, Fractal design Define R4 with SP120 High Performance Edition In the Side Panel, Corsair AX 860i, Corsair K60 Reds, Razor DeathAdder.
