no audio via 3.5mm

So I've just built my new pc and i havent been getting any audio from my headphones using the 3.5mm jacks, ive checked and changed the drivers in a bunch of different ways and i know the headphone works. My monitor produces audio but not headphones. Do you think if i purchase some usb headphones they would work?

Can you see audio working on integrated chip? When you have it selected as primary audio device in Windows (or other OS)?

when i test them in the sound settings yes it displays that there is audio (if thats what you mean) but i cant hear it, also have checked headphones do work

Do you know if front audio works?
