GH5 + Ninja V - Your recommended settings

I just recently aquired an Atomos Ninja V to accompany my GH5.

I wondered what your preffered settings are!
What do you think about:

  • ProRes (LT/422/HQ)
  • HLG
  • BT.2020

And would you recommend ProPres or DNxHD on Windows with Premiere

you'll have to look up some testing but roughly LT for long semi important. 422 for most work and then maybe HQ for some rare times.

as for which one for PP go try and find some info I don't know which it likes

Honestly whats your plan for the footage?  do you want to do heavy effects and advanced grading to the footage or do you plan on putting a light grade on to make it all match and little to no effects or filters to the raw footage you will be using?  If you are doing light work then ProRess LT or the DNx equivalent are fine  if you want to do a lot of work to the footage then consider using HQ or the DNx equivalent.

 

Between ProRes and DNx there is little difference in quality as they both have multiple different quality settings and its more about which software plays better with which one.
