I have a friend who has a redmi note 7 pro which has a problem with the google apps saying the device is not certified. We tried rooting the phone and solving the problem using magisk but to no luck.

Will switching to Different OS like Lineage Os can help solve the problem?

Nope. This problem actually exists on Lineage as well. I run a Reserrection Remix (based on Lineage) and I am unable to solve the problem via Magisk also.

But my phone was certified on Stock ROM

The phone is currently on a Chinese rom. Should we try installing a global version and try magisk again?

It means your device fails Safety Net check.

You could try registering it.

Does your friend have the chinese rom imstalled on that phone? If so, it's because google is banned in china.

What I found online is this thread: https://c.mi.com/global/thread-1817211-1-0.html

However, I would suggest installing a custom rom.

Yea he has chinese rom currently installed. Should just install a global version of the rom or just directly switch to something different?
