What hardrives are good to get for a okish pc build?

I am making a pc in the near future and my bugget is  $3,440.95 US dollars. I am not sure about what the other stuff in the build is but i want AT less 2tb of storage and should i get two 1tb drives or 1 2tb drives (yes i know that's a dumb question but i am still asking it) and would a small SSD be a good thing to get also?

A small or medium sized ssd for your OS is a necessity these days. Then just grab a 2tb HDD. They're usually the best price per GB

Edit: with a budget that large, a 1 or 2 TB SSD is not that unreasonable

For that budget get just a 2TB SSD and don't bother with HDDs. Get something like a Sabrent Rocket 2TB (Not Q!), Samsung Evo, Corsair MP510/600 and be done with it. If you really need more storage than that add a 2TB WD Blue for ~60$ for mass storage. Like i said, for 3400$ i wouldn't bother with HDDs.

If someone did not use reason to reach their conclusion in the first place, you cannot use reason to convince them otherwise.

SSDs and HDDs both have a longer lifetime than most users will ever need.

You should create a new topic in the new builds section for that. Noone can give you a good parts list for your needs with the info we have right now.

HDD really only last 6-10 years. I wouldn’t say that’s longer than most users need.

I see most users upgrading their PC before anything happens in terms of drive failure. Of course it's another topic if you want to keep certain parts for future builds.

What do you need your PC for? Gaming? Productivity? Work? If we don't know what you plan on doing there could be a lot of budget invested into parts you'll likely not need.

yeah i agree that PC would be great for gaming and editing ect. But if you plan on only doing light stuff it could be a complete waste of money.

Are you planing on streaming in the future? If not you can save a lot of money with a cheaper CPU and don't lose performance if you only game.

What exact monitor do you have? There's no point in buying a 2400$ PC and using a 1080p 60Hz monitor.

If you're only gaming a 3950X will be overkill. I'd rather fit a 10600K in your budget as it is a better gaming CPU than the 3950X while being much cheaper. If you need more storage just add a 2TB WD Blue. I'd say go for 16GB of ram and if it is not enough you can just add the same kit for a total of 32GB in the future. With the additional budget there is no more performance to be had. I'd rather save the rest of your budget and keep the money. This is pretty much as high as i would go: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/jzKqZf

(PS: Idk why my part list won't embed.)
