The details is my old pc's psu.

I want to build an  r5 3600 + rx 5500xt 4gb + asrock b450m pro4-f.

My psu has a 4 pic for cpu and 6 pin for graphics card. So i wad add 2 convertor like, 4pin+1molex to 8pin for cpu power and 6pin+1molex to 8 pin for gpu power .

will it be ok.. ( remember my psu claims it can handle 550w ).

Don't recommend it

And I personally would not do it.

Spend a little extra money on a new PSU

A cx450 will be a whole lot better

Heck even a VS ( grey label ) probably will

Well, it says that it has two 12V rails with 14A each. That is 336W. I would say that expecting it to output 340W is a bit optimistic, to say the least. I'm also not sure how they got 550W, considering 170 + 340 + 5 + 12.5 = 527.5. I would not really want to use that PSU for anything

:)

Yes, it claims that but its only half true.

If you lookmat the sticker it notes 350w max on the 12v rail. Surprise: the power consumers in your pc like cpu and gpu rely on that 12v.

See it as a 350w unit, cause a quality 550w unit today is actually able to deliver those 500+w on the 12v rail where it matters.

If your psu is lacking a cable theres a reason for that... dont go the comverter route as this often doesnt end well (just to a search on molex to pcie and "burned" and "melted" and the images youll find should convince you).

If a PSU needs adapters to run something, then it's obviously not meant to run said something in the first place.

Get a CX450/CX550 or TX550M.

Also love the "ensure quality" branding on a supposed 550W PSU that says it's only got 340W on the 12V rails right underneath, but in actuality they're only capable of outputting 336W really (if that even). Gotta love cheap power supplies.
