Can you plug extension cables directly into psu?

JustAGamer325

HI everyone! I was just wondering if you can plug sleeved extension cables directly into a psu. If that's important, the psu is a seasonic focus gx-650w fully modular and the cables are these: https://www.amazon.co.uk/LINKUP-Extension-Sleeved-Custom-Braided/dp/B07W94M7SL/ref=sr_1_4?dchild=1&keywords=linkup%2Bextension%2Bcable%2Bfor%2Bpsu&qid=1593249008&sr=8-4

Cheers!

No. The end of the extension cables are female connectors and are a different pinout to what is used on the PSU. To use extension cables you will need to use the normal cables that come with the power supply and then attach the extension cables on to the end of those. Hence extension.

What you want is a set of custom cables/replacement cable kit. You will need to buy a kit that is compatible with your Seasonic Focus power supply.

The ends of the extensions that connect to the PSU cables (and the ones that connect to the PSU) are actually male, not female. The ones that go into the motherboard/components are female. They're based on the actual metal pins/receptors, not the plastic connectors.
