Hello , i currently own a pretty usable laptop i want to upgrade.

ive aleardy put ssd on it and its super fast , i really enjoy working with it now.

problem is , its still old and lacking on the ram side. its only got 4gb .

i wanted to make sure with you guys on deciding which ram to buy to fit this laptop model , i know that you need ram on desktops to fit the motherboard and the other ram sticks , now i dont mind buying an 8gb stick and replacing it with the 4gb one , but i want to know which one i could fit on my model.

the laptop model is : HP 250 g6

and this is the cpu - z page of the ram :

take the bottom panel off and check what stick you have and whether there's an empty slot left for upgrades without replacing the old stick. Heck what's already on it may even be  soldered.

I have  doubts with what CPU-Z says because that frequency is really low

I see.. So there might not even be an option to add ram then. If there is a slot, or if i can only remove the ram, i can just put in whatever ram stick i want that can fit the specific connection?

Open the laptop

Check if there is a slot available.

You will need a SO DIMM

Check the frequency and the case latency

If you get a so dimm with lower frequency the imc will run all sticks at the speed of the slowest one

As for cas latency

Different cas latencies should work but it could cause problems

But any so dimm should work.

It has no be non-REG. Otherwise you can put in anything you want.
