High cpu usage on i5 8400 and GTX 1060 6gb

I have a i5 8400 and gtx 1060, and when I play any game the cpu usage shoots up to 100%. This happens on all games I play such as modern ware-fare, rocket league and Fortnite. Even though cod is a graphically intensive game it shouldn’t even go to 80.

i have searched everywhere for weeks, I have gave my system a clean os restart. Please lmk if you know how to fix this. Please include basic fixes because I always seem to forget them thank you.

Cod should do that. All of my cpus do that on cod. The current cod is much easier on the cpu that Blackops 4 was.

Define similar ?

It's a 6c/6t cpu , not exactly the best multi threaded cpu

i have done multiple benchmarks and and compared my performance to similar builds and they have much less usage like 60. this really bothers me.

If The pc is on, it’s at 100% perfectly fine.
And windows show 0-6% from the gpu, so that isn’t a good indicator.
Better cpu or bandaid with resolution and settings.

20% CPU usage is by Malwarebytes disable it while gaming if you are not getting your desired FPS.

If both CPU and GPU at 100% when Gaming it's okay. Try software like MSI afterburner to monitor live CPU and GPU usage while gaming.

That would be because your CPU isn't fit for streaming. At the very least you want HT/SMT for that if you're going to use a 6 core - at least if you care about quality or performance. Since you have an nvidia GPU however you could try using geforce experience instead of your CPU so the load is on the graphics card's hardware encoder.

Also you posted a screenshot where you can clearly see the game is only using 70% of your CPU while malwarebytes is hogging 20% of it on its own for some reason.
