I have a i5 9th Gen Intel, xpg dd4 6gb ram, asus GTX 1660 super, asus strix  H 370 f motherboard, 650 watts power supply. The pc was running fine for a couple of months, then suddenly it started shutting down randomly. I tried changing the ups, cleaning the dust but it's not working. It's NOT shutting down while gaming or on any load, it's mostly shutting down when I'm in chrome doing simple tasks. The cpu is also not thermal throttling. It shuts dowm once or twice everyday. Help me

id say the simplest thing you can do is Remove the motherboard. and put everything back together. resit all the components including cpu and rub the golden pads on the ram with an eraser or alcohol wipes.

-Event Viewer, at the time of the shutdowns to see what the error shows as, if it does.

-Is it restarting or just shutting down? If its restarting then disable automatic restart.

In Windows, search for and open View advanced system settings.

Click Settings in the Startup and Recovery section.

Remove the check mark next to Automatically restart, and then click OK.

That should allow it to provide a error message to get a clue on whats wrong.

Stress Test different components, cpu-z, gpu-z, crystalmarkdisk are good examples of testing your hardware.

memtest64 is good for testing the ram.

is it always when you're using chrome? or is there other examples,

if its just chrome try uninstalling and reinstalling chrome?

Also the xpg ram, is it 6GB ram or model  XPG D60G Ram, if so whats the stick size.

6GB of ram is a odd number for a one slot ram stick, ( unless you have a 4 and a 2GB ram sticks.)

2X6 gb ram, it shuts down and doesn't shut down always when using Chrome. Now my system is not even turning on properly, I installed network security software (avg) to check for virus after the scan completed the system took too long to open files and there was errors the files and programs were not able to open (will attach a pic). And then I uninstalled the software and completely shut down the pc and then when I restarted the loading time after the sign in took a long time and I got a black screen on my mouse was seen. Now idk what to do😭😭😭😭

This now seems more like a a problem with your drive, either a something corrupt with windows or something with your HDD.

If you're not able to successfully load up the pc normally, run your pc in safe mode, or try startup repair or worst case scenario  try reinstalling windows. If you do manage to get into windows then try the other suggestions.

Try Running System File Checker (SFC),

  1. In the search box on the taskbar, type command prompt, press and hold (or right-click) Command Prompt, then select Run as administrator > Yes.
  2. At the command prompt, type sfc /scannow (note the space between sfc and the /). Scanning will take a few minutes.
  3. If SFC finds corrupted files and replaces them, restart your PC and check if the issue persists.

Have you tried what i recommended earlier,

Stress Test different components, cpu-z, gpu-z, crystalmarkdisk are good examples of testing your hardware.

memtest64 is good for testing the ram.

I've heard that some brands of antivirus don't fully uninstall unless you use their separate uninstaller from their website.

They can sometimes leave stuff on the pc.

I don't know if that applies to this antivirus but you might want to check it out.

Also I just read a post on the forum about a dudes pc that kept shutting down at  https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/1205972-pc-shuts-down/  you might find helpful.

He fixed it by replacing the power supply.

Hope that helps. 🙂
