Hello there,

I wish to upgrade my laptop's ram from 4gb to 8 - it has two slots and 1 stick of ddr4 4gb installed. If i want to upgrade it to 8 will i need to replace both it and the free slot with another 2 4gb or can i just put a different brand of 4gb ddr4 in with the current one?

When i change the ram out is it plug and go or do i have to mess around with Bios etc?

First make sure you can upgrade in the first place if you can any so dimm will work really

Preferably micron ones like the ones from crucial

Your imc ( Integrated memory controller ) will run them at the speed of the slowest stick
