Gaming Virtual Machine

I would like to host a "Gaming Vm" so me and my friend can play a gpu intensive game (Ark). My second computer currently isn't up to spec while my first one is. I want to make it so I can run the game Ark on my host and run it on the Vm. I only have one gpu.

You can't pass a GPU to your host and your VM, only one or the other. IF you had a second GPU, you could pass it to the VM, and split your CPU and RAM up, but you can't split a GPU up...

Not going to work then. You would need either 2+ GPU's with preferably either a hypervisor or GNU/Linux based host or 1 enterprise/professional grade GPU that supports vGPU or MxGPU. This isn't going to happen running on Windows Home/Pro.

You can play multple games on one system with multiseat software like aster, but thats has some app compatability issues.

Only way I know of doing this us with Unraid and multiple GPUs.  I've done it with 2x GTX970s.  But with just 1 GPU you're not going to get far.
