So the other day my Intel ssd 520 (180gb) died. What ssd should i get as a replacement? Crucial MX500 500/250 GB($110/$80), Seagate BarraCuda 120 500 GB ($110), or Samsung 860 EVO 250GB ($100).

Is that US dollars? Those are pretty bad prices for 500gb SATA drives. Maybe get the crucial P1. $65 for 500GB, $130 for 1TB

Edit: that is assuming your motherboard supports m.2 and nvme drives

MX500 out of these 3. Definitely not the 860 Evo, it's by no means worth double the cost per GB

This is in canadian dollars, forgot to mention that

Those prices are way too high for those SSDs, for those prices you can get an NVMe drive. Getting a WD S550 500GB is $CAD95 or a SP A80 500GB is $CAD105, an nVMe drive will be way faster than what a SATA SSD can do.

My mobo does not have an nvme drive, otherwise i would have gone for one. aswell, I am from canada, those prices are pretty acurate, canada's prices are high.

You could add an m.2 to PCIe Adapter but at your budget that’s probably not worth it
