Hi, all.

While I acknowledge that a Ryzen 5 running at high 60's/low 70's C, under load, is 'within spec'., I'm wondering if/how I can improve things?

CPU is currently under a be quiet! Pure Rock, on an MSI X470 Gaming Pro, in an Antec P280 with the three stock TwoCools as exhaust (2 roof, 1 rear) and two additional TriCools as intake.

Is the case inherently bad for cooling current levels of components? Are there better fans I could be using?

I've been considering a swap to a Meshify C as this gets rid of one impediment the P280 has - a drive cage where the air comes in.  If the Meshify C is generally a better case (certainly looks better behaved on the cable management front)

what (140mm) intake fans would be recommended for maximising airflow/cooling if the stock fans were on exhaust detail (1 rear/1 roof)?

Can I realistically call myself a gamer, if I only play ONE, twenty year old game...?

Did you test boot it, before you built in into the case?

WHY NOT...?!

First just take the side panel off and see if that improves temps. If so then it's an issue with airflow and the antec looks pretty closed off.

The case seems fairly restrictive at front. Like bad replica of R3/4. CPU cooler is midrange, so that could be better also. That being said, if we are talking about full load temps, you can't get much under 65C with just air cooling.

Reporting back...

Side panel off does mean that HWiNFO64 now shows:

... under load.

Funding is available for a Meshify C, but what additional fans (if any) would be recommended?

While I'm at it, I may as well re-TIM the cooler with MX-4.

Just get whatever fan fit the aesthetic you're going for. If you get too fancy with functionality they start to get expensive, that's why i have an open air case. Thermaltake core p3 I don't have to get fans.

There's already 2 fans inside both 120mm. you might be able to mount 3 in the front of the case but that may be a stretch. You can however fit 3 on the top. So you're looking at getting 3 or 4 or even 5 if you want to just replace both preinstalled fans. I would recommend Noctua just from watching LTT. But i've seen people go with corsair or even cooler masters.
