I'd suggest waiting for the motherboard/PSU shortage to lessen, so you have more, better options for both of these components.

Also, waiting for Nvidia Ampere or AMD RDNA2 would also be ideal, since you'll be likely to be getting more for your money.

No particular reason was just thinking for future games like Cyberpunk.

I changed it to an Intel build because the 10600k is faster... And changed the monitor to a 280hz monitor.

If you decide to go with AMD, at this point, the B450 motherboards haven't been on the shelves that long and will probably come with the BIOS updated. If not, you can always either return it, or take it to the store and ask them to update the BIOS for you - they do this for you at MicroCenter

Sometime this month we should be seeing the shortage lessen, probably in the next week or two.

Ampere and possibly RDNA2 should be coming late Q3/early Q4, if we're to go by all the rumours, leaks and track record particularly of Nvidia; no official prices as of yet though.

There won't be any performance difference to speak of, it's just that if you go with 4x4GB, you won't have the option to upgrade to 32GB by just throwing in another two 8GB sticks, so I'd suggest going with 2x8.

I thought that they were going to be announced at the end of September (computex or whatever they do instead if Computex gets Corona'd), and be released sometime around the holidays.

From what I recall most leaks lead to believe that they'd be releasing in the Autumn. Turing for example originally launched in late September, if that's anything to go by.

Also some recent rumours regarding RDNA2 suggested that AMD's new cards would be coming out around the same time or before the launch of the next-gen consoles, so that'd again be in the Autumn.

But then again, none of this is actually officially confirmed, so there's no way to know for sure. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

If I decide to wait for Ampere to release, are there any parts I should start buying (when on sale) or should I buy everything when it release in case of a new "technology" for a lack of better words?

Yeah I'd wait and buy everything at the same time tbh. In the meantime maybe you start doing something else that could warrant maybe a better CPU, or more RAM, or more storage, and as you also mentioned there could be new tech coming out too, like AMD's Zen 3 for example.

That being said, there probably won't be something new and revolutionary coming out for every category of PC components. For example, you could buy the case for example or the CPU cooler before you build the whole PC, especially if you find some sweet deals.

EIther buy it all now or wait till the new stuff is out. Prices for existing products get lower with time, even if they aren't replaced. The successor to the Ryzen 3600 isn't out yet, but it's gone from $200 at release to $160 now.

Also, I feel like this needs to be said, but you really shouldn't spend $3,000 on a gaming PC. That's a lot of money and there are diminishing returns for everything - experience, longevity etc. - at half that price. So unless you can afford to just throw $3,000 away, I strongly recommend picking a more budget-friendly configuration.

Especially given how much the technology is changing - 3 generations ago the top of the line Intel mainstream chip was a quad core. Now it has ten, and runs at 5.3 GHz. And NVidia's DLSS 2.0 and whatever AMD does is going to be revolutionary. Also the PS5 will force all these companies to step up performance and slash prices, because it's going to be absurdly powerful and will beat any PC at the same price by a LOOOONG shot.

I'm not rich so 3000$ is a lot of money for me but I wanted to buy something that would last me a couple of years.

If a buy something more budget-friendly, would you recommend waiting for the new GPU or by something now and upgrade later?

I'll give my take here, with a couple things fixed

better mobo, better cooler, same ram and SSD, bit worse, but significantly cheaper GPU, a leages better PSU, a screen that'll look a lot better to most people, due to the step between 144hz and 240hz being around 2ms, while a higher resolution panel with better viewing angles is quite a bit cheaper. a case with better airflow that isn't meant for a budget build and the 10600k according to MSRP pricing

better mobo, better cooler, same ram and SSD, bit worse, but significantly cheaper GPU, a leages better PSU, a screen that'll look a lot better to most people, due to the step between 144hz and 240hz being around 2ms, while a higher resolution panel with better viewing angles is quite a bit cheaper. a case with better airflow that isn't meant for a budget build and the 10600k according to MSRP pricing

Thank you for taking the time to make this build!

Do you think I should for the new GPU to release or should I buy something like your build and upgrade later?

I'm not rich so 3000$ is a lot of money for me but I wanted to buy something that would last me a couple of years.

If a buy something more budget-friendly, would you recommend waiting for the new GPU or by something now and upgrade later?

RX 5700 xt. AMD's driver support is absurd... The RX 580 came out more than 3 years ago for $250 and competed with the $250 GTX 1060. Today, it beats the $250 1650 Super and competes with the $325 1660 Super.

There will hopefully be an RX 5800 xt and an RX 5950 xt

The $375 RX 5700 xt currently gives the $525 RTX 2070 Super a run for its money, as it's only 6% slower. Unless DLSS becomes mainstream.

For the CPU? Honestly, no better time to buy the Ryzen 3600, it's on sale pretty much everywhere. I'm having a hard time recommending the 3700x for pure gaming when the i5 10600k is just faster
