Apple TV remote

someone give me an 2012 apple TV .problem is they lost the remote. 

if i buy a 3 gen remote from ebay will it work? or is there another solution ?

That remote supports all Apple TV’s. The newest one only supports Apple TV 4K and Apple TV HD.

You can link remotes quite easily. Almost all remotes will allow this. I assume apple would work the same.. Then again, its apple.

Yes, the 2nd and 3rd gen Apple TVs used the same remote.

Exactly, that's what I used  to use to mess  with my brother's apple tv
